This book provides a concise history and development of Black Metal in Russia from the 1990s to the 2020s and aims to showcase different generations of musicians, as well as the old and, incidentally, the new situation in Russia. Therefore, the book doesn’t emphasize subgenres, but does break down the time periods.

You’ll find exclusive interviews with musicians from different eras. You’ll see both the author’s perspective on Black Metal in Russia and the musicians’ own perspectives. The overall picture is complemented by reviews of the most interesting albums.
